The painting is very interesting and the scene depicted emotionally involves the viewer. The feeling of dread and wonder can be read in an exceptional way on all the faces and in all the attitudes of the characters who animate the painting. The gaze inevitably turns towards the center of the work attracted by a strong light and by the movements of the protagonists. Here, Christ is depicted in a solemn pose facing Lazarus who is positioned low at the end of the canvas in a dark, almost ghostly area. The Author manages to give the feeling of a return to life directly from the Underworld. It is a work of great character, painted from the outset with rapid brushstrokes and with a great ability to create the illusion of movement.
