"Pair Of Important Woodwork Mirrors Venice Italy XVIII"
Pair of large wood paneling mirrors with richly carved and gilded polychrome wood glazing beads on an orange background painted with green foliage. The original four-part mirrors are covered with a molding richly carved with flowers and foliage ending in the lower part with volutes and a shell. The turbulent upper part carved with foliage and adorned with two shells carved with flowers, one in the lower part and the other at its top ending in a silver wooden cornice. The glazing beads in gilded wood frames carved with foliage and flowers adorned with flowers and animated foliage in the center, are separated by flowery arabesques. Original gilding and polychromy, some gaps in the decoration to be noted and cracks in two glazing beads and in the mirror of the upper part of the right mirror (see photo).
