Exceptional life-size sculpture in Carrara marble finely carved in direct carving from the late 19th century signed on the back PUGI (Guglielmo Pugi 1850-1915) romantic composition called maternity featuring a young woman in bust cuddling her child embraced around of it, the whole resting on an alabaster pedestal. Guglielmo Pugi is a Florentine sculptor author of the famous bust of King Umberto I erected in the town square of Fiesole, from 1870 he runs a workshop providing a significant foreign demand. His works are notably preserved in the historical museum of the city of Voltera in Italy. Good general condition, no breakage, cracks or restoration.
