Christofle is a French goldsmith brand, founded in 1830 by Charles Christofle.
His master silversmith's hallmarks were registered in 1845, the date of the first manufacture of “silver goldsmith”.

At the end of the 19th century, the Christofle house now produced objects in silver metal. From 1851, Emperor Napoleon III ordered all the official table services of the Empire from Christofle.

From the second half of the 19th century, Christofle also became a supplier to ministries, embassies and parliaments around the world, but also to luxury hotels, shipping and rail companies, both French and foreign.
