"Large Chinese Cloisonne Dish"
Exceptional Chinese cloisonné dish dating from the 19th century and having a dragon in central representation. Cloisonne in Chinese art is associated with Imperial art because from the 14th century only the imperial court could have it. Thus the essential and the finest production of cloisonne comes from the Beijing region. In addition, these objects, by virtue of their rarity and preciousness, were often offered during weddings. This dish is the example: its large size with 60.5cm in diameter, its dazzling colors and especially the dragon in the center of the dish which represents luck, power but mainly nobility of soul. This dish is in perfect condition and has never been restored.
