Old gilded frame in wood and stucco, gilded mat (usual wear).Frame dimensions: 52 x 64 cm.
Dimensions of the watercolor: 31 x 44 cm. Signed, located (Ixelles) and dated 1877.
The photographs were taken keeping the glass (some reflections) and without unframing the work.
Preparatory watercolor of the painting kept at the Museum of Ixelles.
Charles Ligny (Mons, 1812- Ixelles, 1889). Belgian painter, watercolourist, architect. training at the Academy of Mons. Preferred for landscapes, city views. Exhibited at the "Salons de Bruxelles" between 1854 and 1881. Member and president of the "Société Royale Belge des Aquarellistes". Works in the Museums of Antwerp, Kortrijk, Elsene.
