"Gilt Bronze Chandelier With Six Arms Of Light Empire Period XIX"
Gilt bronze and brown patinated bronze chandelier in the style of André-Antoine Ravrio * from the XIXth Empire Period. The six sconces are formed by imperial swans holding in their beaks the finely chiseled binets of scales ending in pine cones, in the center culminates on a brown patinated bronze sphere, surrounded by a gilded bronze frieze, a cherub holding in one hand a laurel wreath and in the other a gilded bronze torch, a basket richly chiseled with acanthus leaves and water flowers ending in a pine cone. It is suspended by three arms, each made up of four gilded bronze elements chiseled with water flowers at each end, they are connected to a finely chiseled circular base adorned with a pine cone in the center ending in six palmettes surmounted by florets. Matte and shiny mercury gilding and original brown patina (cleaned by our workshop, electrification redone, opaline candles). Work of a remarkable delicacy of carving and sculpture with a singular and refined decoration of remarkable quality reminiscent of the works of André-Antoine Ravrio made under the Empire period. * André-Antoine Ravrio born in Paris on October 23, 1759 and died in Paris on October 14, 1814, skilful French founder received Master in 1777, he set up on his own in 1790 and became famous by providing furnishing bronzes for a prestigious clientele including Napoleon 1st, his reputation spread throughout Europe.
