Nyoi or Japanese Buddhist scepter.This one has been worked into a root, its shape reminiscent of the lingzhi, a fungus that brings good luck in Chinese civilization, of which it is a widely used symbol in iconography.
It has a superb glossy patina that is both honey and dark brown.
