This 17th century gouache was brought back in December 1836 from Italy by a French family based in a large Norman property. Always remained in this house until the last years of this decade, it has never been opened and still has its back in stretched paper today. This Madonna and Child is made around Francesco Vanni, against a background of ancient ruins and vegetation towards the end of the 17th century.
