Elisée MACLET was born in 1881 in Lihons in the Somme; he died in Paris in 1962. Painter of urban landscapes, he painted mainly Paris where he settled in 1906. The Butte Montmartre where he stayed, is one of his favorite subjects but also many other districts of Paris. This ink and watercolor on heavy paper represents a view of Paris during the floods of the Seine in Paris around 1910 with in the background the dome of the Institut de France and Notre-Dame to its left. Very beautiful colors in shades of parma, purple, a whole range of colors. Dimensions: 27 cm X 38 cm (sheet) + rod It is highlighted by a wooden rod of good size. It has not been cross-checked, the design is "full margins". The second photo is that of the unframed work and therefore without glass, the first and the following ones framed under glass. Elisée MACLET has exhibited in numerous galleries both in France and abroad. It is listed in particular in Bénézit, dictionary of painters, sculptors, draftsmen and engravers.
