"Pair Large Jars (ht 78 Cm.) Martaban Glazed Stoneware South East Asia Jar Potiche China"
I offer you this rare pair of jars, from Southeast Asia, Malaysia. They date from around 1900-1930. Very rare in this size and especially in pair. They are in very good condition except for a few minor enamel breaks. They sound very clear and have no cracks. They are not pierced. It is a very pretty and fine decoration of bestiary and plants. cf: expertissim sale reference 2015061072 (it is only one, similar to an appraised model):. (sic) "Martaban-type jars were used to store food and water in houses and on boats. were also used to package precious Chinese porcelain for export. "
