Antique Chinese Dancer Lamp In Carved Agate Hard Stone

An exquisite antique table lamp. Formed with a C19th Chinese agate figure of a dancer. The figure is raised on an ormulo base decorated with a band of flyfot symbols.

The symbol of the swastika or flyfot is an ancient religious icon in Chinese, it is called 卍 字 (wànzì) meaning "symbol of all things", it symbolizes an abundance of good things.

It was transformed into a lamp in France in the first part of the 20th century.

Period - 19th century

Condition - Good condition

Measurement - Height Agate figure only 16cm. from the base to the top of the figure in agate 26cm
