"Emile Guillemin Bronze Musketeer From Prosper Roussel"
Beautiful small bronze depicting a musketeer by Emile Guillemin. Signed below "Prosper Roussel, Place Vendôme 26", which means that it was sold by this great Parisian house, around 1880. Golden (base) and silver (musketeer) patina. Small wear to the silvering: see photos. Note, the sword is a little twisted, but complete. Very much in the spirit of the late 19th century, when Viollet Leduc brought the "troubadour" style back into fashion.
