Refined canivet representing The Virgin Mary and the baby Jesus from the late 18th century. Beautiful cutting execution for this oval-shaped canivet which honors the Virgin and Child in a central medallion. Polychromy rich in colors made with watercolor gouache. The central medallion, treated like a miniature, is gilded around the edges and surmounted by a fleur-de-lys crown; it remains around, very nicely decorated with flowers, foliage and rests on a paper with a black background. Original protection under glass with air bubbles included in the production in a gilt wood frame circa 1800 (some wear to the gilding very acceptable). Dimensions at sight: 15.5 x 12.3 cm. I consider this set in a very good condition. Note: cutting just as refined as the gouache highlights. Delivery: 10 € for metropolitan France.
