"19th Century Inlaid Jewelry Box Cabinet"
Jewelery box, designed as a cabinet, a flap reveals two gates finely inlaid with wind roses on a background of braces, once opened, the latter reveal a removable compartmentalized box and a double padded bottom. On the inside of the flap, two small sculpted interlacing and finely openwork doors, with outlines surrounded by a decoration inlaid with twisted motifs, open onto a padded arrangement allowing buckles and brooches to be hung. The body of this box presents an alternation of convex and concave shapes carved with friezes and lambrequins, it rests on small winding feet.The outer face of the flap is inlaid with floral motifs on a background of walnut tree in four leaves and surrounded by a frieze also inlaid repeating the motif of lambrequin carved on the body. Incredible charm for this beautiful collector's item that could be compared to a mastery or companion work. Period XIXth century - Fruit wood, walnut, maple.
