"Anton Wrabetz (austrian, 1876--1946) Roses In A Vase"
The still life of roses in porcelain vases was executed by Anton Wrabetz (1876 Vienna-1946). He studied from 1891 to 1895 at the "Kunstgewerbe" school in Vienna (by Minnigerode) and since 1895 at the Academy in Vienna by JVBerger and Sigmund L´Allemand. At the beginning of his career, he was a portrait painter and later mainly as a painter of flowers and still lifes. Since 1906 his works were regularly exhibited by the Artist Union "Künstlerhaus", of which he had been a member since 1921. In 1933 he received the Dumba Prize and in 1937 - the Government Prize.
