"Curule Stool Seat End Of Sofa Empire Style Mahogany XIXth"
Empire style curule stool. Mid 19th century. 52 cm x 36 cm H. 45 cm Beautiful workmanship with small usual restorations. Extremely strong. Seat redone and upholstered with the "Monuments of Egypt" from the Braquenié house, reproduction of the eponymous canvas, printed with a copper roll at the Oberkampf factory in Jouy-en-Josas around 1808. The designer was inspired by works of the painter Louis-François Cassas.
