"Louis XVI Period Charm Trumeau"
Large charming trumeau from the Louis XVI period. The square format canvas above the mirror represents a country scene: On the outskirts of a castle we see a rider on horseback, probably the squire, a peasant with his team and his cart, a servant crosses a lake or a river with a boat loaded with barrels. In the background we see a village. The canvas is in good condition. Small tear at the bottom in the right angle quite acceptable for a charming picture in its own juice. The mirror cannot deny the traces of time either. The wooden part of the pier has its original paint, a nice light blue, rediscovered under layers of later paint.
