The wide seats, the generous medallions and the sculpture are reminiscent of the manner of Jean-Baptiste Lelarge III, received master in 1775.
Note the decoration with two registers of the backrests, with in the upper part very beautiful falls of laurels with a clip of branches and, under the start of the arms, a simple molding. The sober grooves of the armrest consoles echo those of the uprights which connect the backrest to the rear belt. The base of the consoles and the noses of the armrests are carved with acanthus leaves. Note also the decorative heart-shaped register of the belt, unusually different from that of the backrest, which contributes - in this case and in our opinion - to the elegance of the whole, which remains light despite the richness of the sculpture. The belt is assembled at the four feet, adorned with rudent grooves and summed with connecting dice - carved with a rosette for the front feet.
We did not find any information on this "F. Roger in Paris", whose stamp is affixed on two armchairs and on the sofa.
