Heavy Sterling Silver & Vermeil Snuff Box With Peasant Decor. Germany, 19th - 20th

Pretty polylobed box in solid silver decorated with a figurative scene.

The box is with scalloped edges.
The hinged cover presents a rural landscape of northern Europe, repoussé, depicting a peasant woman returning from the well, in a village landscape with houses and a mill.

The box is decorated with flowery scrolls.

The inside of the box is vermeil.

The box bears hallmarks that are difficult to read, including an "830" for the title.
This is a German work from the late 19th century or early 20th century.

Superb box with a beautiful decoration typical of the Netherlands or neighboring countries in 18th century style.
