Jules Moigniez (1835-1894)
Jules Moigniez is a French animal sculptor .
His father was a master of metals .
Jules is the pupil of Paul Comolera (1818-1897) , a great sculptor specializing in birds .
His teacher is Paul Comoléra , who was a pupil of François Rude .
Moigniez exhibited at the age of twenty his first sculpture "Chien Braque stopping a pheasant" during the Universal Exhibition of 1855 in Paris .
He then exhibited regularly at the Salon, from 1859 to 1892 , where he obtained an honorable mention in the first year .
He presented his sculptures again at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878 .
Moigniez is successful, particularly in England and the United States .
Indeed , his works are judged to be remarkably thorough , with a very thorough precision , complemented by an elegance in the attitudes .
Faced with the success of his son , his father created a foundry especially for him .
