Pastel mounted on cardboard, portrait of a woman with a headdress, signed on the left Boissier ft. and dated 1813, in very good condition. Under its original glass, in a gilded wood frame. Dimensions of the pastel 38x30 cm Total dimensions, with frame, 47.5x39.5 cm; André Claude BOISSIER, born February 6, 1760 in Nantes and died March 29, 1833 in Château-Gontier, history painter, miniature painter, engraver, who was active in Paris where he studied with Nicolas-Guy Brenet. He became a drawing teacher at Château-Gontier in Mayenne where he held a workshop. Referenced artist Benezit Let us quote from him: an Assumption, an Apotheosis of Saint Vincent de Paul (Palace of the Emperor of China), Jesus tempted by the devil, the Adoration of the shepherds. The Sait-Jean church in Château-Gontier has a large canvas of him representing The Death of Christ.
