"Rare English Console Regency Period"
Exceptional and rare large English console from the Regency period (1811 -1820). In solid rosewood, this wildly elegant console has a water-green marble top that matches the central projection of the cabinet. The two rosewood shelves rest on gilt and chiseled bronze consoles. The bottom is a trellis entrelas in gilded and solid bronze. The four "feet" are in solid rosewood with stylized acanthus carved in the mass in their center. They rest on a rosewood top, itself supported by gilt bronze balls. This piece of furniture is of incredible quality both for its exquisite volumes and the materials used. The Regency period in the history of art corresponds to the French Empire period.
