Allegorical bronze statue, produced at the end of the 19th century, titled "La Fortune" embodied by an attractive young woman dressed in a drape, her foot resting on a winged wheel, she holds a cornucopia and presents a leaf of palm. Most likely the goddess Tyche (or Fortuna) seen by the sculptor Didier Debut (presence of the signature on the base). Original brown patina, gilded bronze base. Engraved in a cartouche it is written: La Fortune DEBUT Sr (sculptor) PRIX DE ROME. Very good condition of presentation. The height of the subject off the base, from the tip of his foot to the top of his hairstyle is 55 cm. Trained by David d'Angers, Didier Debut (1824/1893) won the Second Prix de Rome in 1851. He exhibited at the Salon numerous statuettes in plaster, bronze and marble. In Paris, he participated in the decoration of the Opera, the Hôtel-de-Ville and the Commercial Court.
