"F Guillermin: Bouquet Peony"
Composition of a bouquet of white peonies in a blue and white vase. In a style all his own Guillermin proposes a light suffused with subtle for this work with pastels. Bruno Frantz Guillermin, born in 1878 and died in 1947 Isere Lyon 69 years old, is a French painter. He was an associate member of the National Society of Fine Arts in Paris. He first worked in Valencia, in a decorator, and then for eight years in Lyon with another decorator talent, BARDET. Between decorative work (which explains his fondness for the flower), he was painting. Modest, hard-working, hard to himself, indulgent to others, it deals with the same happiness flower, landscape, still life, portrait. He worked with the portraitist François Guiguet. Like him, he was haunted by the light unit, the "to do volume," although flat. He painted landscapes, portraits and flowers. His paintings of flowers have a kinship with those of Felix Valloton in a typical cold light of how this Swiss painter. He decorated the ceiling of Lyon Brasserie Georges and the dome and a chapel of Notre Dame de Fourvière, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception. He also decorated the theater and Annecy, Valencia municipal hall. In 1937, he received the Prix de la Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts, which aims to reward the most meritorious works Salon.
