"Magnificent Curved Regency Commode Stamped M.criard"
Magnificent curved Regency chest of drawers stamped M.CRIARD, inlaid with rosewood curling motif. Completely original (bronzes, handles, locks ...) Opening with 4 drawers (2 small juxtaposed at the top, surmounting 2 large superimposed drawers) Stamped 3 times "M.CRIARD" Antoine-Mathieu CRIARD (1724 - 1787), cabinetmaker in Paris , received master on April 22, 1747. He acquired a fair reputation and continues with dignity the traditions of a line of cabinetmakers. Completely restored, we have chosen for this sumptuous chest of drawers, a polished one. This finish corresponds to the time of production, which is around 1750. The marble is period, but has some small chips. H: 87 cm W: 132 cm D: 65 cm We find a chest of drawers by the same cabinetmaker, with the same olive-shaped handles, in chiseled bronze. This royal order for the Château de la Muette was sold on July 3, 2020 to Drouot Richelieu (lot 154).
