Oil on panel painted by Pierre Forest (1891 - 1971)
Best known for his maritime landscapes of south-eastern France, Pierre Forest also painted still lifes and sky views (especially of Paris and Ile de France). During his long career, he was exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants between 1931 and 1943, but also internationally, such as in Switzerland, Morocco and in several South American countries.
A retrospective exhibition was dedicated to him by the city of Nice in 1981.

The panel it self is in good condition, however note some signs of wear on the pictorial surface in the upper left corner; small pits of moisture and soiling on the upper part.
