"Orientalist Painting By Louis Granata The Oued Abiod"
Superb and large orientalist painting from the twentieth time representing the Oued Abiod which is a stream that crosses the Aurès massif in the north-east of Algeria. Painting made by Louis GRANATA (1901-1964) born in Italy from a family established in Algeria for a long time, Working with his father for sculptor Louis is noted for his talents as a designer, he integrated the fine arts of Algiers in 1912 , he obtained his 1st price in 1916 for a nude which earned him to be under the thumb of ROCHEGROSSE and to meet the great Algerian painters like DINET. In 1951 he was an academy officer for fine arts then presented various works in exhibitions. This very characteristic painting of the artist presents the Wadi Abiot, a village in the background on a hummingbird while in the foreground 2 people are busy at the water's edge. Superb light work, the sky is very slightly cloudy. The colors have remained bright and lulminous, work of great quality in excellent original condition, signed lower right and located on the back. The set is presented in its original frame with a cartouche indicating "Louis GRANATA gold medal HC Algiers"
