"Executive Desk By Jean Claude Mahey - Lacquered Wood & Brass - Ca 1970"
Rare large-format executive desk by the French designer Jean Claude Mahey. It is an exceptional piece. This desk was produced in the mid-1970s and is entirely in lacquered wood and finished in brass. Indeed, the top is decorated with a "marquetry" in brass and the handles are also in brass. The contrast of lacquered wood and brass is a characteristic of the work of Jean Claude Mahey. This desk is of exceptional quality. He typically describes the elegance of French furniture from the 1970s to 1980s, as did Maison Roméo or Maison Jansen. It opens with two belt drawers which reveal a light wood still making a very nice contrast with the outside. The lacquer is in very good condition. Minimal and normal wear marks.
