Three large identical double glass doors in oak in very good condition.
They are typical of the so-called "Belle Epoque" period and are a magnificent translation of the Art Nouveau artistic movement.
They come from a guinguette town on the banks of the Marne located 20 km from Paris. At that time in 1905, Parisians took the train on Sundays (Saturdays were worked… ..) to go for a walk and party in the countryside, to go rowing, to go to the ball, …… (see the film by Marcel Carné from 1929 on this atmosphere https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neGUKpm8tlk).
This period is a period between two wars (1870,1914), carefree, prosperous and made of industrial and economic progress.
The story of these doors is therefore a joyous story. As they equipped the Town Hall of this city (where weddings took place), they also illustrate what a building of the Republic was at the beginning of the XXth century and of course rare are the doors which posed next to the inscription "Liberty". , Equality, Fraternity “(photo 5 and 6).
Dimensions of a double door: height 352 cm width 231 cm.
The linear of the three doors joined together dresses and decorates an entire facade of 10 meters in length (see simulation in photo 2).
They are in their original condition and paint, they have all their ironwork (locks, hinges, cremones), the windows are to be brought by the purchaser according to his choice.
You will have unique, majestic and bright decorative elements, steeped in history.
