Object description :

"Pair Of Marquetry Chests Of Drawers. Period XIXth Century"
Important pair of curved corners in marquetry of exotic woods and pear tree frame.
The top and the doors are richly decorated with quatrefoils and fleurons, in alternating forms, in frames simulating latticework in front;
Leafy scrolls in spandrels and net evoking the straw marquetry.
Bouquet of flowers and foliage in a net of ribbon on the tray in reserve.
Louis XVI style
Period XIXth century
This very beautiful marquetry, quartefeuille, inevitably reminds us, despite its free interpretation, the very famous marquetry called, the Queen, which Martin Carlin was an illustrious ambassador. Such as his chest of drawers reproduced in Kjellberg " Le mobilier français du XVIIIè", p 163.
