"Small Louis XIII Sideboard, Upper Body Set Back."
Small sideboard from the Louis XIII period with two bodies, in walnut. The bottom opens to a titoir between two cornices and a door with a carved pattern of two intersecting sheaves of wheat tied to oak twigs. The upper body, set back, opens to a door with a panel very finely carved in relief of two crisscrossed oak branches, linked by a ribbon and accompanied by tassels. The corners are twisted columns in opposition. The sides are a panel with indented angles, separated by a panel in the center of two acanthus leaves. The whole rests on 'rave' feet. Nice work from the 17th of the Haute Vallée du Rhône. The back is posterior (19th)
