This expressionist-style sculpture represents a pieta.

I do not know the wood, it is relatively heavy.
signed : SOULEAU , period: mid-twentieth century around 1950 1960.

Good general condition, despite some original slits, a thumb is missing on the female subject, note the two feet were made apart and reported on the subject (it's original).
