Old & large centerpiece dating from the second half of the 19th century. Bronze cup with double patina. Model in low relief depicting the 4 elements The fire represented by the god ares The air represented by the goddess Iris brandishing a caduceus The water represented by the goddess amphitrite seated near a source The earth embodied by the goddess Gaia The cup is surmounted by an engraved crystal tulip tree decorated with flowers. The frame of the cornet depicts the nymph syrinx transforming into reeds to flee the god pan. 44cm high, the cup measures 32.5cm in diameter. Crystal in very good condition. The cut shows wear to the patina (visible in the photographs).
