Round box in Macassar wood underlined with circular striations and enhanced with a gilded bronze plaque carved and engraved with leaves and berries of mistletoe by the bronzier artist, cabinetmaker and emeritus sculptor Jules Cayette (1882-1953) of the 'School of Nancy. One of the great names of the Art Nouveau movement and the beginnings of Art Deco having collaborated in particular with Daum, Amaric Walter, Victor Prouvé, Eugène Vallin and Jacques Grüber. The rarity of his timeless works and the excellence of his art make Jules Cayette an artist now rediscovered and prized. Engraved signature J. Cayette
