Rare Burgoté Travel Writing Case From Napoleon III

Rare and superb travel writing case in lacquered, painted wood and burgot marquetry.
remarkable work which is becoming rare to find in very good original condition.
this writing desk is in black lacquered wood on which stands out lovely painted and inlaid decorations in burgot giving it an incredible presence, the reflections of the shell marquetry changing according to the light and the orientation of this small piece of furniture.
the quality of the decor is of great finesse and the main panel lets us discover Windsor Castle.
it is also annotated in the lower right corner. when you open this flap you discover an interior forming a writing desk and having retained its original crimson velvet decorated with embossed flowers in relief.
a small tear was made in the velor a long time ago to facilitate access to the storage compartment.
under the small top flap are lockers, one of which acts as a pencil case and uncovering a small cover below as well as a locker adorned with a cover with a mother-of-pearl button for the compact and another identical in symmetry for the inkwell.
the whole is very finely worked in wood and the crosspieces are all scalloped.
a very beautiful and remarkable work from the Napoleon III period around 1870-1880 where this type of small burgotated furniture was very fashionable and that it is difficult to find in good condition on the market.
