Pair of bronze sculptures with a shaded patina representing great artistic figures, Albrecht Dürer (German draughtsman, engraver and painter) and Van Rijn Rembrandt (Dutch painter) Respectively, they have an inordinate amount of detail, the hands are finely realised, the faces are sharp and moving, the clothes are executed with the utmost realism Rembrandt is titled on his artist's portfolio, sketchbook under his arm, palette and brush on the floor, he is signed in the naturalist base "A.Carrier", Dürer's figure is titled on his drawing book and also signed in the naturalist base "A.Carrier". Slight patina wear in a few places.

Distinctions : Carrier-Belleuse was a member of the committee of the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts from 1861. Knight of the Order of Leopold in 1869, Officer of the Legion of Honour in 1885.
