Aftafa With Rabbit Ewer, Tinned Copper, Eastern Iran, Northwest Persia, XIXth Century

Aftafa ewer, in tinned copper, decorated on all sides, with interlacing, friezes, and the unusual presence of the Muslim symbol of the "believer" the hare, engraved on both sides (photos) .
Our model probably comes from the North-West of Persia, eastern Iran, Azerbaijan.
A handle in Esse, beautiful engravings, and a patina due to time underline the object.
Note the many sides that make up the neck.
The decorations present are similar to what can be found on Persian rugs, but also on rugs from the Caucasus, a nearby region.
This ewer or Aftafa jug was and is mainly used for ablutions, washing the face and hands, at the time of religious ceremonies.
