"Bust Of Marianne In Bronze 19th"
MARIANNE or REPUBLIQUE in bronze on scalloped plinth.Wearing the Phrygian cap and a wreath of oak and laurel leaves, she wears a cord with the inscription "AMNISTIE" and at the bottom of the chest the words:
"Fête Républicaine July 14, 1789-1889".
The back is decorated with a crown and the dates
"1789, 1830, 1848, 1870".

It was on 4.09.1870, the day of the proclamation of the Republic, that the Government decreed an amnesty for those condemned for political crimes and offenses for the period from 3.12.1852 to 3.09. 1870.
