Katagami play a big role not only in Japanese culture but also in Western art cotton and linen from the mulberry bast, 2nd half of the 19th century. . Several layers of blackberries were glued with khaki juice and the patterns were cut by hand with knives and served as batik to put patterns on the kimonos.
