"Mastodon Tooth"
Exceptional mastodon tooth, this animal lived after mammoths and before elephants. They disappeared around 9,000 years ago. We can see in the photos that the animal had broken the tip of its tooth to the nerve and a long time before dying because the tooth was rounded and repolished with use. In the case of a current elephant it would have died of an infection due to insects and parasites height off base 38.5cm maximum diameter 11cm maximum circumference 35cm weight 2,160 kg
