"Sassanid Glass Bowl Molded In Honeycombs From The 7th Century."
This post-Sassanid bowl is made of thick cut glass and its exterior and granite decor evokes a honeycomb. This glassware is characteristic of the productions of the region of Iran or Iracq where the pre-Islamic style continued after the Muslim conquest. The piece is both translucent and mysterious by its internal light that emerges when playing with a light source. (It is possible that the starting point of its realization is a wax mold and that it is melted like a glass sculpture). Old provenance: Galeie Kevorkian, Paris.
