Rare and curious 17th century set of 4 wooden carved and gilt lions, used for scassone feet -large elongated italian chest.

The 4 felines have different attitudes and positions.

Condition: very beautiful unworn gilding; Wormhole bites, especially on the nose of one of the shorter lions.
1 fixing hole on the back of each lion, linked to its original destination.

Dimensions 23cm long * 8cm wide * 12cm height approximately for 2 of them (cassone front feet) and 15cm long * 8cm wide * 10cm high for the 2 rear feet.
