"Changing Life Of The Illegitimate Child"
Rare representation of a scene common in the 18th century in France: an illegitimate child from the nobility, also called batàrd, is handed over to a smuggler in order to exile the child far from his region of birth, probably to a monastery or the he child will be educated in religion and anonymity in order to make him a servant of the clergy.
