Pair of silver-plated candelabras, carrying a bouquet of 4 lights at the end of leafy branches. The removable bouquets are nested in rockery candlesticks with scalloped and heavily molded bases. Foliage and flowery branches are inserted between strong rock moldings. The naturalistic and leafy barrel extends towards the binet in a Meissonnier decor. The set can be used as a pair of candlesticks or as a pair of 4-light candelabra once the bouquets are repositioned. Work of the Halphen house in Paris (stamped on the base of the candlesticks and under the bouquets). Charles Halphen & frères is one of the wealthy trading families settled in Paris under the Second Empire. She worked among others for the Christofle house. The widow Charles Halphen was a silversmith and her son Joseph succeeded him. Height with bouquets: 42.5 cm. Width with bouquets: 26 cm. Height of the candlesticks: 26 cm.
