"Portrait Of An Englishman, Circa 1820"
Magnificent and large portrait of a handsome Englishman circa 1820.Typical of this period, the broad shoulders, and the scarf tied on a shirt with a high collar. English fashion for men is preeminent. The pictorial sensitivity of this painting is particularly fine, the tones harmonious. The face is particularly successful. The cracks in the painting clearly indicate this period. It had a restoration as seen on the back.
