"16th Century 2 Body Wardrobe"
Very rare and exceptional cabinet with 2 bodies, recessed, in molded walnut, carved and inlays of ivory, bone and mother-of-pearl, engraved and tinted. Opening with 5 leaves and 7 drawers. The upper leaf with carved relief decoration of a rider, after an engraving by Adriaen Collaert (1560-1618), on a drawing by Martin De Vos (1532-1603), flanked by 2 niche leaves, containing 8 drawers. 13 of the 15 drawers can be locked using locking pins. One of the lower leaves, decorated with a figure of Diana after Phillips Galle (1537-1612), surrounded by winged lions and sphinxes. The drawers and pilasters decorated with foliage and flower scrolls. France late 16th early 17th century. Small maintenance restorations, grafted toes.
