Jeanne Devaux : "bouquet De Dahlias" Circa 1930

Jeanne Devaux (20th century): “Bouquet of dahlias”, oil on double-sided panel 61 X 46 cm, mounted in a Parnassian frame 71 X 56 cm. Little is known about this artist who was active during the first half of the twentieth in Béarn and whose still lifes and portraits can be found in this perfectly mastered post-impressionist touch. This one dates from the interwar period and has on the back an equally interesting but unfinished painting representing a table set for breakfast in a corner of the garden.
