Passion, daring, material and color for this superb oil on hardboard by the most expressionist of Marseille artists Antoine Ferrari (1910-1995). The work is offered in a modern black American box-type frame which measures 101 cm by 74 cm and 92 cm by 65 cm without the frame. Signed lower right, it represents a table on which are placed a vase, a bottle and a bouquet of flowers. Ferrari was launched in 1927 by Van Dongen who, admiring his talent, had him admitted to the Salon d'Automne in the same year. From 1930, his hometown (Marseille) subsidized his artistic studies in Paris. In 1937, he obtains the Abd-el-Tif prize, a living grant which allows him to spend two years in Algiers ... The work in perfect condition, frame measures 79 cm by 107 cm, it is signed lower right . A great artist to rediscover.
