César Baldaccini is responsible for the creation of the bronze trophies awarded every year during the César ceremony. The César films are the "holy grail" of film awards created in 1976. César is part of the New Realists movement. He represents him by his many famous sculptures around the world. Today his works can be found in the collections of major institutions around the world such as the Center Pompidou in Paris, the Tate Gallery in London, the MoMA in New York. Caesar died on December 6, 1998 in Paris.
